History

History The Department of Applied Japanese Studies at Kainan University was formerly known as the Japanese Section of the Department of Applied Foreign Languages and Literatures. In 2002, it enrolled the first students of the day department. From August 1, 2005, the Department of Applied Japanese Studies was formally established and the Department of Advanced Studies was set up. So far, the department has 14 classes with approximately 530 students. In 2007, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to set up a master's degree program, which enrolls 10 master degree students every year.

The goal of the University Department is to cultivate Japanese communication talents for business, tourism, information and technology application translation required by the whole country.

The goal of the master's program is to cultivate Japanese language teaching talents in the national supplementary education community, community colleges, professional language teaching personnel in general universities, and Japanese professionals who are proficient in Japanese language and culture.
